NEW LOCATION!
UNIVERSITY OF TOLEDO, TOLEDO OH

Midwest Ukulele & Harmonica Camp will be held at the University of Toledo (UT) in Toledo, OH. Toledo is about an hour south of Detroit, at the Michigan/Ohio border. We think you’ll really like UT, which is characterized by nice, well laid-out facilities; all with air-conditioning and elevators, spacious dorms, a cafeteria with a nice selection of foods and an intimate and wonderful-sounding concert hall. All our UT facilities – dorms, classrooms, dining hall, and concert facility – are within a very short walk of each other; the furthest being the Recital Hall (where the concerts will be held); about a 10 minute walk from the others.

PARKING
Lots: Lots 25 and 25N are the lots next to Rocket Hall that will be our main parking spaces for the weekend. See them here on the map, circled in red. NOTE: To make sure you do not receive a parking ticket, we need to give the folks at UT the make, model, color, plate number, and state/province your plate is registered in. There’s a spot on the registration form to list this information or you can give it to us later.

CLIMATE
Mid-July weather in Toledo generally runs from a low in the upper 60s to a high in the upper 80s; it can get quite warm and humid in Toledo at this time of year. Although all the buildings we will occupy at UT are air-conditioned, students will need to walk outdoors between buildings several times a day. To ensure that you’re as comfortable as possible when you do venture outside, we highly recommend that you check the weather report at The Weather Channel/Toldeo OH Weather, and select clothes that are appropriate for the projected conditions. Even if it’s going to be hot, we recommend that you bring a light sweater or sweatshirt to wear indoors in case the a/c is too high for you.

THE CITY OF TOLEDO
The city of Toledo has many experiences to share, including a wonderful zoo and aquarium, art museum, botanical gardens, and the Toledo Mud Hens AAA baseball team. None of these are directly adjacent to the university, but most are 10 – 15 minutes away by car.

Less than a block away from Rocket Hall is the Gateway Complex, which includes fast food options, a coffee bar, a convenience store, a restaurant/bar, and a bookstore.
